I feel the gears grind to a halt. I know it's because of me and the guilt that washes over me on the factory floor is apparent. I stare at my boots and scuff the floor with my heel. I don't know if I'll ever make my way here. I don't know that I'm cut out for it.

My whole work schedule is getting a bit tedious. The fact that I have class at 8:00am, then go directly to work, then have 3hrs off, then go back to work and directly to class after that (returning to my apt at 10:00pm) is getting old already. Though, if you think about it, the summer session is nearly 1/3rd over. Amazing.
Though I will argue that staying busy helps me maintain focus. Also, I made the most bomb-ass analysis of a real estate investment ever. I am SO levered. If i win the competition, I get $130 cold, hard (eh?), cash.
just in case you missed it: Leveraged Sellout

Apparently, Rachel McAdam's age has been called into question.
Aren't birth certificates of public record? Hollywood should set down the publicist shit and do their own detective work...
In other news, summer is progressing slowly, but pleasantly as I work each day away and spend my time outside of class attempting to master Tony Hawk's Project 8 on Xbox360.
It's not going so well.
It was good to be home, and it's good to be back. Onward, summer...onward.

Well, i guess if anyone was wondering, Alec has officially become famous. He is now listed in the "Noteable Alumni" section of Palatine High School's Wikipedia entry. see for yourself.
ok, enough avoidance of studying. Gah.

Luckily for you all, i don't feel the need to write a 2006 wrap-up.
I will, however, list some things that have been cool.
1) Being abroad 2) Mew (just got into them) 3) Annuals (them too) 4) living with Rion this coming semester in Geekdom 5) meeting the people i have met, because in some cases, they crush the people i knew before in awesomeness (in others; not) 6) liberation
whateverness. The blog hasnt been updated in a long time, just thought i'd do that.

end of story. get out of the store before you break something. byekids.

Man. I have been doing a terrible job of updating this blog...but I feel like I made up for it in the other blog...it's here if you're interested.
Finally succeeded in branching out a bit socially over here, and so far the results have been fantastic. Dave and I contend that we likely know everyone here between the two of us. Excellent. I think coming back to campus whith all of these people should be fun...plus my apartment is entirely likely to be a really tight nerd-den. Awesome.
Bleh. International business class should not begin at 8:15. This then means that I have to be ready to leave by 7:00 am. Thanks 1:15 commute, you never get old. I will go from the 1:15 commute here in Luxembourg back to the 1:00 hr commute to the Loop when I get back. Damn it.

spent the weekend in amsterdam. What a wonderful place. Never found the Red Light District. Oh well. I have no idea what went down on friday other than Mary thinking we had never left our hostel. She sat in the coffeeshop we were in and paused. "I get it," she submitted, "we're not leaving the hostel tonight." Yeah, so everyone was pretty high.
Spent saturday in a haze...and saturday night in a cocktail of chemicals i didn't plan on ingesting, but did anyway. I remember being in front of a haunted house somewhere in the city and smoking, and then I was eating chinese somewhere else, wired the whole time. Between the "herbal speed", the pot, the 13 or so beers and the addy, i was in a strange place.
The next morning i woke up with a bit of a hangover and sat outside for a few hours before everyone woke up. It was perfectly frigid in the morning. Just what i needed.
Midterms here are a silly thing. You KNOW they're not going to be that difficult, but Miami being as Miami is, everyone is freaking out and studying a shitton. Oh well.
I have resolved myself to not studying for German, studying for Music, studying for Marketing and studying for Accounting (hard).
Meh. I suppose bring it on. Haven't written the post for the travel blog yet, but I will have it posted before tomorrow morning.

here i am in europe, and missing silly things at home. Like mealplans. Like Cereality. Like Harolds.
And those are just the things i feel like i should miss. There are others that I feel no obligation to miss, but do.
Like having a place of my own. Like foods.
But ultimately, I am not too worried. This weekend: AMSTERDAM
new xmas gift ideas welcome.

I was surprised to discover that paris doesnt blow.
in fact, it doesn't even suck.
It's actually really really fucking cool.
I partied really hard, went to a giant buddha bar. It was great. Met some 32 year olds that we flattered into buying us drinks and driving us around town.
Got stuck in the middle of a rollerblade parade. It was nuts.
It was fashion week. The San Antonio Spurs were there. I tried to get into the Chloe (some designer) show, but was stopped by a man with a headset and a gun. Dr. Smith is not staying in room 261 of the swankiest hotel in Paris which has hosting an industry-only party (open bar).
shit man, this whole europe thing is nuts. More details in the other blog

Well, it looks like I am headed to paris this weekend.
it also looks like i don't have housing for next year.
it also looks like it's raining outside.
The Killers' new album is pretty king, enjoying it.
Paris? I don't think you're ready for this jelly. DragonForce should be the national anthem of the Nation of Living Peoples. Just fyi. man oh man, amsterdam is coming up too. Getting high legally? redic. I told everyone to brace themselves for my rediculousness.
Last night was jazz night at this place called Liquid. Smoked some Reds, got pumped about acid jazz all over again and started listening to indian music and masses from the middle ages. Thanks music appreciation class. I need to go blow off some steam, .
bye kids.

Back from Interlaken and the rest of my week in Switzerland. I am discovering the wonder that is Hot Chip right now.
I went canyoning, which is a lot like rafting...without a raft...in a narrow canyon full of 30 foot drops and jagged rocks. Our guide hurt himself. It was badass.
The time spent in the switzerland was a show. Party-time too often for anyone's good. Underground clubs and empty bars. Lots of hookah-smoking beer-slamming good times.
Things to remember: - move to interlaken with alec and cdub to become a guide
- continue partying as if my body is a useless sack of rice or beans
- fight more often
- accept $500 worth of drinks for businessmen who keep your champaigne glass full at bars for the famous
- make less lists
- make more lists
fuckers. still partying, new peoples new parties, you know the deal.
smashed and smashing in europe.
bye kids.

Ok, so that's the parent-safe one. I accomplished blacking out at oktoberfest by 3pm. Drank a total of 7 liters of beer.
made out with a german girl.
made some new friends, got lost in general, at a lot of sausage, went on a impromptu date with said german girl, fought a security guard, danced on tables, passed out on germans.
didnt even lose anything important.
slutty and sausage-laden in europe.
